It is a duly licensed manning agency in the Philippines, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and authorized by the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Maritime Industries Authority (MARINA), to hire Filipino seamen for overseas employment.

Currently, it is manning a growing number of Cape Size, Bulk Carriers, Log, General Cargo, Car, Container, Reefer and Tanker Ships. OROPHIL takes pride in producing its own breed of maritime graduates handpicked and educated by the Visayan Maritime Academy (VMA).

Moreover, the Visayan Maritime Academy and its Training Center (VMA &TC) who also holds the DNV ISO 9001:2000, provides for training of VMA graduates, OROPHIL crew and trainees from the various sectors of the Maritime Industry.

Both the Visayan Maritime Academy and its Training Center have fully complied with the provision on maritime education and maritime training as per standards and guidelines of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (IMO-STCW '95).
